Balkan Gas Hub EAD welcomes the decision adopted by the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) under Protocol No. 209, item 2 for approval of the Agreement for implementation of a Gas Release Programme, which can be found here

The Gas release programme is being implemented as a result of the amendments and supplements to the Energy Act adopted in October 2019 to increase liquidity and provide real access to a competitive environment for all participants in the natural gas market in Bulgaria. The Gas release programme is a newly introduced measure to promote natural gas demand and supply at national level and will contribute to the actual diversification and liberalization of the market in the country and the region.

Balkan Gas Hub EAD will work in cooperation with all institutions and market participants in order to turn Bulgaria into a liquid physical and trading hub in the Southeast Europe Region.

The Company, as a party under the Agreement for implementation of a Gas release programme (GRP), prepared a draft Agreement for participation in the market segment for implementation of a Gas release programme, which can be found here

In accordance with EWRC decision and in order to comply with the deadlines set in the Agreement for implementation of a Gas release programme (GRP), we ask the interested parties to submit their opinions and proposals on the draft Agreement for participation no later than 3 December 2019 to the following e-mail: admin@balkangashub.bg with a copy to simona.barakova@balkangashub.bg

After considering the opinions, on 4 December 2019 Balkan Gas Hub EAD will publish the Agreement for participation which will also be sent to the participants who have submitted Registration Form and accompanying documents. Signed Agreement for participation shall be sent to Balkan Gas Hub EAD by 6 December 2019.

Also, in order to get acquainted with the functionality of the platform, on 2 December 2019, Balkan Gas Hub EAD will send to potential participants who have submitted Registration documents, a detailed User Guide for the use of the GRP segment of Trayport Joule, including a link to download and install the program, the necessary IT settings, as well as detailed information on how to make bids for purchasing gas in the auction. In addition, participants who have applied for Registration will be able to take part in two test auctions which will take place on 5 and 6 December 2019 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm EET via Trayport Joule program.
